Bala Samskar Kendras: Teaching Hinduism to Children in Frisco Texas
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is conducting 150 Bala Samskar Kendras in five different States across India. These Sunday Schools serve two purposes. First to teach about the richness and glory of Sanatana Dharma including its eternal nature scientific advances depth of knowledge in scriptures and universal appeal to humanity. Second to prevent the Christian aggressive missionary threat to Hinduism where children are lured away by bribing them with chocolates pens pencils and promises of material things.
In Frisco Texas GHHF conducts classes teaching kids about Hinduism and Sanatana Dharma. Children learn about humanity towards others and that the world is a big family. The Sanskrit concept Vasudeva Kutmbakam means the entire world is one family. Our Sunday Schools discuss contributions Hinduism made in education mathematics astronomy arithmetic quantum mechanics metallurgy surgery medicine dentistry infinity zero cosmology literature yoga and meditation.
GHHF has started BALA SAMSKAR on Sundays as well as weekdays to impart the richness of Hindu Heritage that enunciated peace harmony inclusiveness self-improvement and universal welfare.
Environmental Protection rooted in Hindu Scriptures
Hinduism teaches that the five great elements space air fire water and earth that constitute the environment are all derived from Prakriti the primal energy. Each element has its own life and form and together the elements are interconnected and interdependent. The Shrimad Bhagavatam 2.2.41 states that ether air fire water earth planets all creatures directions trees and plants rivers and seas are all organs of Gods body and remembering this a devotee respects all species.
Dr. Pankaj Jain stated that Hinduism contains numerous references to the worship of the divine in nature in its Vedas Upanishads Puranas Sutras and other sacred texts. Millions of Hindus recite Sanskrit mantras daily to revere their rivers mountains trees animals and the earth. The Chipko tree-hugging Movement is the most widely known example of Hindu environmental leadership but there are centuries-old examples of Hindu action for the environment.
Hinduism teaches that the earth can be seen as a manifestation of the goddess and must be treated with respect. The five elements are the foundation of an interconnected web of life. Dharma often translated as duty can be reinterpreted to include our responsibility to care for the earth. Simple living is a model for sustainable economies and our treatment of nature directly affects our karma.
