[GHHF] Visited Nanjapuram village that remains all Hindu, helped to build a metal cover in front of the Temple where we started Bhajan Mandal
The villagers erected a sign on the highway saying that “This is a Hindu Village. No other faith are allowed to do any propagation.” It is written in English and Telugu languages.
On November 24th morning we visited the village of Nanjapuram in Brahmasamudram mandal, Andhra Pradesh. In this village, people decided that no other religious faith is allowed to enter the village for conversion or propagation of other faiths. Thus, everyone unitedly drove away those who came for religious propagation, not giving space to people of other religions. However, they asked the elders of the organization two requests: a board saying that people of other religions should not enter our village and a bhajan program was organized in front of the Thimmappa temple, which we worship very much. Before it was completely completed, we were in trouble during the rainy season because the front of the temple is open and it is not suitable to sit when it rains. Therefore, the elders of the organization were asked to set up a bhajan mandapam in front of the temple.
The village leaders approached GHHF though our volunteers – Gopi Chary, Arjun, Hanumanth, Nagarjun and Ravi. Velagapudi Prakash Rao immediately responded and a board saying that the propagation of other religions is prohibited in that village and a bhajan mandapam was set up in front of the Thimmappa temple by placing petals. To express their gratitude for setting up the bhajan mandapam, the villagers all got together and invited the elders of the organization to their village. The Bhajan Mandapam was inaugurated by Velagapudi Prakash Rao.
Sri Gopi Chary performed the puja in the Temple and distributed prasadam. Later, all the villagers assembled in front of the temple under a newly built cover. In this village our team headed by Ravi started the Bhaja Mandal where they sing bhajan on a regular basis.
GHHF also started Bala Samskar Kendra where we had about 30 students enrolled. The all came that day showed their talents singing patriotic songs and other slokas they learned in the class. We were impressed and happy to know that villagers are taking full advantage of our programs.
