[GHHF] Will Hindus ever get Justice in Andhra Pradesh? Even Deputy Speaker Raghuram Raju and other Hindus were attacked with Nails, knives, sticks, rocks, etc. by Dalit Christians. When do Hindus get spared from daily attacks across AP?
Sri Raghuram Ramakrishna Raju, Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh, visited Akiveedu on March 27 to have darshan of Lord Rama, offer his prayers, and place a garland on Lord Rama Parivar. This Temple is more than 100 years old, and Sr Raju decided to renovate it. Some local Christians opposed the renovation, saying that it is a Christian village and that they are opposed to it. Hindus in the village say that it is a Rama Temple spread over 2.33 acres.
The group of Christians came out of their houses, attacked the convoy with stones and sticks, injuring three people, after they garlanded the idol of Lord Rama on Sri Rama Navami Day.
The attackers allegedly used knives and sticks with nails. Several people were injured in the attack. One person suffered a nail injury to the head, and another was stabbed around 12 times and is now in serious condition in a hospital in Bhimavaram. The injured were first taken to Akiveedu Government Hospital.
Speaking to the media, Raghuram Krishnam Raju said,
“On the occasion of the Sri Rama Navami festival, this morning I went to the Rama temple in Pedapeta of Akiveedu along with Rama devotees. Christians, in the guise of Dalits, while I was having darshan of Bhagwan Rama, shouted, and immediately after I left from there, they attacked the Rama devotees present at the temple with knives and made an attempt to murder many people.
Following the recent judgment given by the Honorable Supreme Court, strict action must be taken immediately. On the day of a Hindu festival, in a Hindu temple, those who carried out these attacks on Hindus must be punished strictly according to law.”
Police launched an investigation, registered a case, and named 58 people as accused. All 58 have been arrested and were produced before a court on March 28. Police added serious charges in the FIR, including attempt to murder under Section 109(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which can lead to more than 10 years of punishment. Another section, 308(2), related to an attempt to commit culpable homicide, was also added, along with other sections. Police imposed Section 144 in the area.
Attacks on Hindus
Attacks on Hindus are a daily occurrence. Hindus have no rights. The police Department would not even register the FIR even when Hindus produce enough evidence. In fact, they even threatened the Hindus for approaching the Police Department.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who is the minister for Law and Order, is least concerned about the welfare of Hindus. He will do anything and everything to please the minorities and provide all kinds of incentives to minorities for his political bonanza.
Politicians also threaten Hindus to please Christians for their Vote Bank Politics. They will do anything to hurt the Hindus. There are several cases where Hindus were beaten by Christians. Police are nowhere to be found.
For their election purpose, for their name, fame, and money, the Hindu politicians are even threatening Hindus. There is no place for Hindu to go. No Hindu politician will come to your help. They are orphans, and no law will protect them.
Chief Minister – Sri Chandrababu Naidu
Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu has strongly condemned the attack on Deputy Speaker Sri K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju and coalition leaders who were going to worship at the ancient temple located in Akiveedu Municipality of Undi constituency on the occasion of Sri Ram Navami. It is regrettable that some people, along with outsiders, attacked the Deputy Speaker with weapons while he was going to worship at the Ram Temple, which had been neglected for decades. It is not right to act in a way that incites such social hatred during a holy time when the festival should be celebrated with devotion and devotion. It is unfortunate that some people were injured and hospitalized in the attack that took place today. The CM said that strict action will be taken under the law against anyone who disrupts law and order in the state.
Deputy Chief Minister – Sri Pawan Kalyan
I strongly condemn the attack by some individuals with weapons on the Honorable Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly @KRaghuRaju, his followers, and Jana Sena leaders who had gone to participate in the puja at the Ram Temple in Akividu on the most sacred day of Sri Rama Navami, which is celebrated by Hindus. There seems to be a conspiracy behind this attack near the temple on a festive day. I suggest to the police department that this incident be taken very seriously, and that whoever is behind the attack be investigated and punished strictly according to the law. I wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this attack.
AP BJP President P V N Madhav
It is extremely worrying that the attack on the State Deputy Speaker @KRaghuRaju and coalition leaders, activists, and devotees on the occasion of Sri Ram Navami was a matter of great concern. Blocking entry to a temple and resorting to violence is an unforgivable crime. It is unconstitutional to raise objections to ancient Hindu temples in an area, claiming that religious conversions have taken place. This incident is a direct demonstration of the negative consequences of religious conversions.
The Akiveedu incident is a direct attack on religion. The BJP strongly condemns this. The government should respond immediately and take strict action against those involved in the attack.
Let’s wait and see
Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Deputy Speaker, and other leaders promised to take strict action against these attackers and those behind them. Let us hope their words will match their actions.
Also, the Andhra Pradesh government should act against the Police Department for its failure to enforce law and order. There should be monitoring of police bias, police threats, and police brutality against Hindus.
The police are filing cases against Hindu who go to the Police Station to complain about the attacks on them by minorities. No justice for Hindus.
The Hindu politicians are going to surrender their faith to please the minorities till they realize that was a big mistake. By that time, they themselves will become the victims of the minorities' attacks.
The government should set up a Help Center to complain about the injustice done to Hindus and how they are treated by law enforcement, Mandal Officers, Panchayat Officers, and the politicians.
