HMEC is the largest annual conference for past and present executives, community leaders and scholars of Mandirs, Gurudwaras, Ashrams, Derasars and Hindu organizations in North America and the Caribbean. HMEC seeks to bring these institutions together for networking, collaboration and sharing of best practices.
This year the meetings are held in Dallas at DFW Hindu Temple. Lighting the lamp was done by about 16 community leaders. Then about twelve priests from different Hindu Temples came and chanted the initial Mantras to receive the blessings of Ganapathi and all devas. Later Manjunath from Hanuman Temple chanted Ganapati.
Following the invocation, two sessions were conducted. One of the sessions was about Maha Kumbhamela significance.
Some of the recent HMEC activities:
o    Publication of books on Hindu rituals and practices

o    Helping temples when faced with Hinduphobic attacks
o    Building positive narratives on Hindu symbols like Swastika
