[GHHF] Bala Samskar Students learned a moral story about how “Strength is courage, Strength is Victory.”
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation is always interested in transmitting timeless wisdom to the next generation to ensure that our children learn the richness of our culture. Moral stories at that age will become integral to their beliefs, behaviors, and personality. At a younger age, we should teach them about right and wrong, values, and ethics to shape their future.
Once upon a time, in a village, there lived two friends, Aryan and Pragna. They were not afraid of hardship. They faced every task with courage and a strong mind. They had a habit of being disciplined and helping others. In the same village, there were two other children, Kutil and Maya. Kutil was always lazy and afraid of any difficulty. Maya had weak thoughts and was always disheartened, thinking she couldn't do anything.
One day, Aryan and Pragna decided to climb a nearby mountain. On the way, they met Kutil and Maya. Aryan asked them to join. Although Kutil and Maya were lazy, they decided to go along with them for a sense of adventure.
After walking for some distance, they came across a difficult path. Aryan and Pragna bravely overcame the hardship and moved forward. But Kutil and Maya were scared by the path. Kutil stood still, unable to move forward, and Maya sat down crying, saying, "I can't do this." Just then, a large lizard emerged from a bush towards Kutil and Maya. Seeing it, Kutil and Maya trembled with fear and screamed.
Hearing their screams, Aryan and Pragna came back. Seeing their situation and the animal, Aryan and Pragna stood bravely. They shouted without fear, waved their hands, and scared the lizard away. The lizard got scared and ran away. Kutil and Maya sighed in relief and looked at Aryan and Pragna with surprise.
Kutil asked, "How were you able to stay so calm? Where did you get so much courage?"
Then Aryan explained, "Fear resides in our minds. If we are weak, we get scared of small problems and get stuck in those hardships. We have learned the lesson that 'if we are weak, we will become a sacrifice.'"
Then Pragna said, "If we run away in fear, the problem looks bigger. But if we stand and face it with courage, the problem becomes smaller and runs away. That's why we face every hardship bravely."
Hearing these words, Kutil and Maya immediately understood their mistake. Then Aryan and Pragna explained a sloka to them.
Sloka:
Ashwannaiva gajanna vai vyaghram na vaicha naivacha,
ajaputro balim dadyat devo durbalaghatakah.
Explanation:
No one sacrifices strong animals like a horse, an elephant, or a tiger. But a weak goat is sacrificed. This sloka teaches us that the world is the same. You were scared of a lizard. Many children are afraid of cockroaches, lizards, or dogs and monkeys on the road. But remember, a human is more intelligent and stronger than all of them. They try to scare us by seeing our weakness. If we are brave, no animal will come near us. Not just animals, if we are weak, others in school, in the office, or in society will try to use our weakness to put us in trouble. Aryan and Pragna told them that they could chase the lizard away because they were strong, and Kutil and Maya got into trouble because they were weak. Kutil and Maya immediately understood their mistake. From then on, they began striving to become strong children like Aryan and Pragna.
Main Message:
Weaknesses are not just physical; it is also mental and in our thoughts. We must be strong in every way.
