GHHF Assam] Distribute food to the most unfortunate ones on Makra Sankranti Day in Silchar.
Global Hindu Heritage Foundation has decided to celebrate Makara Sankranti not only in their homes and community, but also for the homeless and hungry who live on the streets.
On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, the GHHF Silchar unit distributed cooked food to underprivileged people. They visited various city streets and distributed hot meals to homeless people.
This festival marks a powerful transition in nature, spirituality, and human life. It symbolizes new beginnings, positivity, prosperity, and gratitude toward nature.
In Hindu belief, the period of Uttarayan is considered highly auspicious for spiritual activities. It is believed that:
• Good deeds performed during this time bring multiplied results
• Charity and donations wash away past sins
• Departing the world during Uttarayan leads to liberation
Because of this belief, holy baths, prayers, fasting, and charity are integral parts of the festival.
Charity is one of the core values of Makara Sankranti. GHHF Assam felt serving hot meals to the needy and homeless was a noble gesture. Thus, they visited several streets and served eels.
Your donations are appreciated.
