[GHHF] Ajey – The Untold Story of a Yogi: A remarkable transformation of a village boy to become Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It is more than a movie. It is a portrayal of a legend who stood for convictions, truth, honesty, dharma, sincerity, fearlessness, and service to humanity. From his childhood, he was disciplined and stood for principles. It is a movie that transcends politics and teaches us to follow drama at any cost. We see a transformation to become a monk, a spiritual figure, a chaplain of dharma, and a Chief Minister. We all remember the saying that “Dharmo Rakshit Rakshitaha” – if you protect dharma, dharma will protect you. That is the belief that shaped his personality, instilled fearlessness, and propelled him to become Chief Minister. His performance, his dialogues, and his expressions appear to be relatable and resonate with the real Chief Minister.
Yogi’s meeting with a Guru, his complete faith in his Guru, his obedience, and his unwavering respect are truly remarkable moments in the movie. Blind belief in the Guru guides the disciple in every way possible. Ananta Joshi, who played the role of Ajey, that is Yogi Adityanath, displayed humility and obedience towards his Guru, Mahant Avaidyanath, reminding us of Lord Rama and Guru Vasista. Guruji's mentorship in guiding Ajey was subtle yet decisive. Ajey learned the importance of dharma and righteousness. Guruji shaped his character, convictions, and compassion. In fact, this reflects the essence of the statement made by Sri Yogi Adityanath himself: "Baba aate nahi prakat hote hain." It translates to "The saint does not come; he reveals himself."
Another scene that really touched me is the heart-throbbing agony of the mother expressing her anger, her anguish, and her frustration, which makes one cry with her. She played ably and superbly. Can you imagine a mother who may have her own dreams for his son but turned out to be so different?
This movie starts in a serene, tranquil, somewhat distant village in the Himalaya region, where a young lad emerges as a remarkable monk, head of the Nath tradition, a social reformer, a politician, and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
This is a movie that teaches every politician that he can succeed in politics by espousing Satya and Dharma. One does not have to be corrupt, resorting to mafia tactics, looting the treasury, exploiting the people, pleasing the mafia, and dwelling in vote bank politics. Only weak, insecure, over-jealous, and money-minded, position-hungry, and fame-thirsty resort to adharma. The movie teaches that all politicians can be successful by being spiritual, righteous, and selfless.
Inspiration from Shantanu Gupta's acclaimed book led to the creation of this extraordinary movie. Anant Vijay Joshi, in his leading role, acted convincingly, superbly, reflecting the character of Yogi Adityanath. Paresh Rawal, who portrayed the role of Mahant Avaidyanth, was remarkable as a Guru, very balanced, poignant, and subtle in his speech and manners. His conversations with Ajey are memorable, thought-provoking, and unforgettable. Director Ravindra Gautam did an excellent job directing the movie, with each character displaying their roles as expected.
Every family should watch with their children to see the importance and richness of the principles of Sanatana Dharma. It is every individual’s responsibility to uphold dharma and stand for morals and ethics.
Also, we could make it mandatory for all politicians to see the movie to learn the lessons and essence of our ancient culture embodied in scriptures such as the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. Hopefully, we may find one or more politicians to reflect on their political lives, moral convictions, and selfishness.
