"Theertham'' is holy water that was used to do Abhishekam to the deity or placed in front of the deity when doing puja or Homa. That water becomes Holy / Theertham in the presence of Deity and by touching the Deity image energized by chanting of Vedic Mantras. This water is mixed with a number of herbs such as Cardamom,''Karpura'' (Benzoin), saffron, ''Tulsi'' (Holy Basil), Clove, Beal leaves, and others. By doing Abhishekam to Murthi, the water charged with the magnetic radiations thus increasing its medicinal values. It is proved that ''Theertham'' is a very good blood purifier, as it is highly energized. Hence it is given as ''prasadam'' to the devotees. These herbs have special medical benefits.
