“The Vedic havan is known as Goma in Japan. There are hundreds of shrines to Goddess Saraswati and innumerable representations of Lakshmi, Indra, Shiva, Brahma, Mahakala, Ganesha, Agni, Bhudevi, Garuda, Kamadeva,Yama, and other deities. In fact, deities that have practically been forgotten in India, such as Vayu and Varuna, are still worshipped in Japan. The most ancient temple to Lord Ganesha which has been in use for more than a thousand years is located in Tokyo.” Yasukuni Enoki, Former Ambassador of Japan in India
