[GHHF] Good news! US Postal Service will honor Diwali with a STAMP

Dear Friends: Namaste.

This is a great news. After years of trying, the efforts have been successful. US State Representative Hon.Tulsi Gabbard lead the drive by uniting different Hindu organizations across USA. Petition to Issue the Diwali Stamp was widely circulated. Finally US Postal Department has announced on August 23rd that it will issue DIWALI stamp on DIWALI DAY, October 30th.

As you know Global Hindu Heritage Foundation also actively participated in the effort and mailed the Petition to nearly 20,000 emails requesting them to sign.

This letter is received from Hon. Tulsi Gabbard’s office.

The U.S. Postal Service will commemorate the joyous Hindu festival of Diwali with a Forever stamp onWednesday, October 5th, at a dedication ceremony which will take place at the Indian Embassy in New York City.

This has been a long and arduous process but this act by the U.S. Postal Service to recognize this special day and to further increase and enrich our nation’s tapestry of religious and cultural diversity will be greatly appreciated by many.
